How Villages Work in Scribble Craft Arena: Jobs, Trade Levels and Iron Golems

A village in Scribble Craft Arena is not just a group of houses. Every villager has a home, a bed and — if a job site block is nearby — a job. They farm, trade, meet at the well, go to bed at night and run indoors when danger comes. Understanding how that works turns a village into your best friend in the world.

Finding a village

New worlds start right next to a village, and the compass at the top of the screen always points to the nearest one. Type /locate village in the chat to see its exact position. Villages sit at least about 240 blocks apart, and only on dry, open land — plains, desert, savanna, taiga, snowy land, meadows and forests.

Every village has six houses, a farm in the middle, a well and a campfire, all joined by worn dirt-path trails. Houses are built from what the land offers: stone and sand in the desert, spruce in the cold, acacia on the savanna.

Jobs and job site blocks

A villager without a job looks for a free job site block within about ten blocks and takes it — you will see a little ✨ above their head. The block decides the job: a Composter makes a Farmer, a Lectern a Librarian, a Barrel a Fisherman, a Smoker a Butcher, a Loom a Shepherd, a Blast furnace an Armorer, a Smithing table a Toolsmith, a Grindstone a Weaponsmith, a Brewing stand a Cleric, a Stonecutter a Mason, a Cartography table a Cartographer, a Fletching table a Fletcher and a Cauldron a Leatherworker.

You can craft every one of these blocks, so you can give an unemployed villager the job you want. If you break the block, the villager loses the job again — unless you have already traded with them. Your first trade locks the job for good (🔒).

Trade levels: Novice to Master

Right-click a villager to trade. Villagers pay in Gems for what they need and sell their goods for Gems. Each offer has limited stock; villagers restock at their job site during the day.

Every trade earns the villager experience. A Novice shows two offers; each new level — Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, Master — unlocks another one. Locked offers are shown with a 🔒 so you know what is coming. The fastest way to level a villager is to keep selling them what they buy.

The Iron Golem

Every village has an Iron Golem standing guard near the well. It walks around the village and attacks any monster that comes within about 16 blocks, knocking it back with a heavy swing. It is on your side — unless you hit it, in which case it will come after you for a while. If the golem is killed, a village with at least three villagers builds a new one a few minutes later.

A day in the life of a villager

  • Morning and day: walk to their job site, work, wander nearby, and now and then meet the others at the well
  • Evening: walk home, find their own bed and sleep (💤)
  • Danger: when a monster or an illager patrol comes close they panic (😱) and run inside
  • New villagers: if a house has a free bed, two villagers who meet at the well may have a baby, who grows up in about five minutes

Look after your village — light it with torches, keep the golem alive, and trade often — and it will feed you, arm you and keep growing for as long as you play.
