Mining Guide: Where to Find Diamonds, Redstone and Every Ore in Scribble Craft Arena

Ores in Scribble Craft Arena grow in small veins, not as single random blocks, and each one has a favourite depth. Knowing where to dig — and bringing the right pickaxe — saves hours. Your height is the middle number of the coordinates in the top-left corner (press F3 for the full debug screen).

The ores and where they are

The deeper you go, the rarer and more valuable the ores become. Below about height 10 ordinary stone turns into darker deepslate, and the very bottom of deep caves is filled with glowing lava — be careful down there.

Ore depths

  • Coal — almost everywhere, the most common ore. Any pickaxe.
  • Copper — between heights 15 and 40. Stone pickaxe or better. Smelt raw copper into copper ingots.
  • Iron — below height 40. Stone pickaxe or better. Smelt raw iron into iron ingots.
  • Lapis lazuli — below height 24, drops 4–8 at once. Stone pickaxe or better.
  • Gold — below height 20. Iron pickaxe. Smelt raw gold into gold ingots.
  • Redstone — below height 14, drops 4–5. Iron pickaxe.
  • Diamond — below height 12, rare. Iron pickaxe.
  • Emerald — only in mountains, below height 36. Iron pickaxe.

Smelting in the furnace

Craft a furnace from eight stone in a ring. Put what you want to melt on top and fuel below — coal and charcoal burn longest, but wood, planks, sticks and bamboo work too. The furnace keeps working with the window closed and glows while it burns.

Raw iron, gold and copper become ingots, sand becomes glass, raw meat and fish get cooked, potatoes bake, and logs turn into charcoal — a handy fuel if you have not found coal yet. Taking smelted items out also gives you a little experience.

Staying safe underground

  • Light every tunnel. Monsters only appear in the dark, and never within six blocks of a torch, campfire, furnace, lava or glow berries.
  • Watch for lava. It burns you and creatures. Pour water on it from a bucket and it hardens into obsidian.
  • Mineshafts — wooden tunnels with rails — hold a loot chest, but cave spiders like them too and their bite is poisonous. Milk cures poison.
  • Bring food and a shield. Skeletons shoot from the dark; a shield in your off-hand stops arrows from the front.

Type /locate mineshaft to find the nearest one. Mining ores also drops experience orbs — diamonds and emeralds give the most.

A simple plan for your first diamonds

  • Get an iron pickaxe first. Mine stone for a stone pickaxe, find iron in any cave wall above height 40, smelt it, and craft an iron pickaxe — anything less cannot collect diamonds.
  • Dig a staircase down instead of straight down, so you can always walk back up and never drop into lava.
  • Stop at height 10–11. Watch the middle coordinate. This is just above the lava pools and right in diamond and redstone territory.
  • Mine long straight tunnels two blocks high, placing a torch every eight blocks or so. Veins show up in the tunnel walls.
  • When you find diamonds, check the blocks around them — ores come in small clusters.
  • Turn them into gear: a diamond pickaxe mines fastest and lasts 1,562 blocks; diamond armour gives the most protection.
